Quavo recently spoke on his religion while considering doing a gospel album. During an interview with VIBE, the ex-Migos member talked about opening up to his faith following his appearance in the film “Praise This,” which can be viewed on Peacock.
Quavo announced that his forthcoming project would be titled “Rocket Power” in honor of his niece, who was shot and killed in Houston this past year. Quavo promised to “pour his heart and soul” into this new project. He also states that he will not be doing any interviews before the release.
This update came just weeks after Quavo released his single and music video, "Greatness,” which was an ode to his younger niece.
Quavo recently debuted his acting skills in the film “Praise This” along with Chloe Bailey, Anjelika Washington, and Tristan Mack Wilds. Quavo noted that he had an excellent relationship with the film producer, Will Packer.
“I think that they feel that’s how they got it. I think, ‘Yes, we should do something.’ I think I should do a collab,” he opened up about creating a collaboration.
The film's premise follows a young woman who joins an underdog Atlanta praise team choir leading up to the national competition. Quavo plays a member of the gospel choir in the film.
In an interview with The Crews Hip Hop Corner, Quavo speaks of his faith, gospel music, and the public view of Christianity in the music industry.
