Angela Yee, Jeezy, City Girls, & More Shut Down The First Day of REVOLT Summit

November 12th, 2021

Yesterday, November 11th, the REVOLT Summit returned in Atlanta for the first time, in-person since 2019 and it was definitely an epic turnout.

With doors opening up to the public around 12 p.m., the scene flooded quickly with young black creatives and entrepreneurs eager to gain new knowledge, network and enjoy the music as well the talent that lied around them. The day started off with the 'Be Heard' auditions. This segment of the event is where creatives who think they have what it takes to be an artist, perform for judges, such as hit record producer Sean Garrett and DJ Holiday, to perform at the finale that occurs on Friday, November 12th. Throughout the day, attendees were able to sit down and talk to a few CEO's and executives to gain the wisdom and knowledge they obtain and help guide them as the next upcoming generation.

Later in the afternoon, the final five of those who participated in the 'Dream In Black' Competition, proposed their business ideas in front of host Power 105's Angela Yee and judges Briana Thompson “Spiked Spin & Wellness Co,” and Iddris Sandu "spatial LABS founder." Winner, Donald Boone took home the grand prize of $10,000 for his company BoxedUp.

Kick starting the evening, the 85 South Show, with DC Youngfly, Chico Bean, and Karlous Miller took over the Main Stage, with fans nearly overflowing the building. During their hour and a half set, the trio cracked numerous jokes and engaged with the crowd, allowing those in the crowd who were singers, to show off their vocal skills.

Closing out the evening, Jeezy welcomed all attendees to his hometown of Atlanta and brought out Mayor Keisha Lance Bottom. Jeezy then went on to perform his hit single, 'Put On' and then quickly brought Lil Yatchy to the stage. During Yatchy's set, he stopped his performance to provide slight comedy to his act, alleviating his feeling of being nervous. Not long after, the City Girls showed up and showed out and put on a finale for the first day of the REVOLT Summit. Stay tuned on the REVOLT app and website to see more of this weekend's festivities!
