Pharrell Williams Named Louis Vuitton Creative Director For Men

Music producer and entrepreneur Pharrell Williams will take on the as the creative director of menswear at Louis Vuitton role, which was previously held by Virgil Abloh.

Abloh passed away back in in November 2021. He was the first African American to become head designer of a European luxury company. Creating more history, Pharrell will be now known as the second.

Although Pharrell is most known for his success in music, he has held a strong background in the fashion industry. He is co-founder of 2003 Billionaire Boys Club streetwear and has collaborated with luxury brands such as Tiffany & Co, Moncler, and Adidas.
He previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton back in 2008 with his line of sunglasses which were re-issued by Abloh back in 2018.

Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO left a statement, via the company’s Instagram account, with the following announcement.

"I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men's Creative Director," said Pietro Beccari. "His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter."

Pharrell’s first collection is set to debut in June of 2024 during the Men’s Fashion week in Paris.
