Quality Control’s latest signee, Gloss Up, is on the rise and eager to take over the rap industry. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Gloss rose to fame as her best friend GloRilla released hit single F.N.F (Let’s Go) back in 2022. As the single gained traction, Gloss Up’s rap career did just the same. Quickly managing to receive recognition from many artists and record labels, QC’s founder, Pierre “P” Thomas expressed great interest to give Gloss a deal. Not long after, the DPWM artist was signed and was gifted a QC chain, sealing the agreement.

Gloss Up, real name Jerrica Russel, began her rap career at a young age as she only began writing rhymes. As she got older, she would soon record those raps into her phone until she was able to record in an actual studio after moving out at age 17. After working and getting fired from a local sneaker store with GloRilla, Gloss began to focus more on her music. After the release of both F.N.F. and DPWM, you couldn’t tell Gloss there was no way of stopping her from achieving her goals. The mother of two began her star-studded career with QC as she broke out spitting her verse on fellow label-mate Lakeyah’s, ‘Real B*tch’ record. The video has managed to gain over 6 million views on YouTube and has left the fans wanting more from the rising star.

2023 has already established itself as a promising year for the Glitter Girl as she just dropped her album ‘Before The Gloss Up’, performed at Rolling Loud in LA, and SXSW in Austin. In our interview, we discuss with Gloss her latest album, being a mom of two while pursuing her career, her recent lipo surgery, her past suicide attempt, Nicki Minaj and Lizzo, and so much more! With her bubbly, fun personality and determination to succeed, Gloss is destined to reach great things. This is only the beginning.
